Hello: I am from central Virginia in the USA. I began creating songs as a hobby after retiring from an engineering career. After nearly 40 years of technical pursuits, I wanted to explore my artistic side, and just for fun, delved into music, poetry, art, photography and creative writing. I do not intend to make these pursuits into a career, and I am strictly an amateur at all of them, but I do hope that others may enjoy some of my creations. When songwriting, I often create my own lyrics, but many times, as in the case of the song "Angel Be With Me," sung so beautifully by Anastasia Lee, I start with a poem written by others that I find particularly inspiring. After writing the melody, computer technology is used to compose and generate the music tracks, sometimes with a live instrument added to fill out the mix. Douglas

Hi, I'm John and I live near London, UK.
I give Hayley Westenra the credit for bringing music back into my life in a big way. Her voice (and others that I discovered while searching for her music) brought me much needed and effective comfort at a difficult time in my life.
It was All Angels though, who triggered my entry into the Classical Crossover on-line community, via the CCUK forum run by Nicola Jarvis. One thing led to another, and through that forum and subsequently facebook and other forums (fora?) I have made friendships with other music fans and artists all round the world.
With my location, I am blessed with many opportunities to experience classical crossover music live, and I try to make the most of those opportunities.
I have too many favourites to list but (as well as the ones already mentioned) Phillippa Lusty, Mary-Jess and Sisca all hold a special place in my heart.
Looking forward to stretching my horizons yet further.
John

I am from Northern Virginia, USA. I am a huge Jackie Evancho fan. Several years ago, in searching for info about Jackie, I discovered CCUK. Nicola and her site introduced me to all these other wonderful artists. I enjoy music, photography and travel.

Are you new here? Why don't you tell us a little bit about yourself. I am a twelve year old, multiple award winning singer specializing in Opera and Classical Crossover Repertoire. I sing in English, Italian, German, Russian and French. I have won awards in four Singing and Talent Competitions regionally and nationally, including Peoria, Illinois 2012, Brown County talent Show 2012, Kendal County talent Show 2013 and the Grand Award at the Junior Youth Talent Contest in Memphis, Tennessee 2013. At age 12, I am the youngest classical crossover, operatic singer. I began singing at music festivals and talent competitions, where I have surprised the audiences with my unforgettable voice, unique look and the way I perform. My performance stands out of other singers of my age, because I use the elements of acting and dancing, while perform the classical repertoire. I use his bright comedian skills, if it fits into the song. I have dislexia. I straggled with that for many years, but my love for singing and opera music has really pushed me to overcome many challenges, that have come my way. With hard work, I can now sing in six languages (English, Italian, Russian, French, German, Tagalog). I hope to be an opera singer in the future. My dream is to make people happy with my singing and to sing around the world in languages of those countries, that I perform. I was named MUSICIAN OF THE MONTH by CHICAGO MUSIC GUIDE chicagomusicguide.com/sheridan-archbold-interview/ I believe God made me for a purpose. When I sing, I feel His pleasure...

Hello. I'm from southeast Tennessee. I've been a big fan of crossover music for a long time, I grew up listening to Sarah Brightman and grew up with Josh Groban (since we're the same age). I've been listening to a mixture of classical, opera, folk, oldies and country music my entire life.
My favorite Folk-Classical Crossover singer is Judy Collins. Some of my favorite classical crossover musicians are Micheal Castaldo, Paul Byrom, Micheal Londra, and Samantha Link. I also write a blog about the music I enjoy, though I keep falling behind on the blogs I want to write.

Hi, my name is Lauren, and not only do I love listening to classical/classical crossover music, I also love singing it. I live in Southern England with my mum, dad, my little sister and our five cats. In my spare time, I like to read, draw, dance and sometimes write. It's so nice to meet all of you.
